The Mission

I got into this when i got into college, i really wanted to get into radio broadcasting but they did not offer that major in my college so i took the next closet thing which was tv production. After i joined the tv production major we were given certain film assignments to bring in and show to the class....since i lived right in the heart of harlem i simply decided to film the people right in my neighborhood---i had gang members, drug dealers, and a bunch of unemployed minorities in my neighborhood who felt they had no means of a legitimate income so they turned to stealing and robbing as a way to survive....I felt that if i could interview them and let the world hear what they have to say, it would be interesting and even somewhat edjucational. When i showed my little documentaries in class the whole class was amazed by the footage i was able to get. For me it really wasnt that big of a deal; to get all the gangsters and hustlers on camera because they were right in my neighborhood, some were even my friends. Because of all the good feedback i kept recieving on my lil class projects i was told i should start my own show--a guy who worked at my school in the film department who had his own show told me what to do and i did it. At first i didnt want to take it that serious, but after a breakup with my girlfriend at the time, i was determined to make it so big in life that she would regret ever treating me wrong, so i couldnt think of anything but to start my own tv show and make it the best that I could so I could one day get notice, become famouse, and very financially stable. After I started My Show I named it "Harlem Streets" more and more people found out about it and liked it. After a year went by more people then i could imagine found out about my little public access show called "Harlem Street". I was amazed when i was contacted by a friend who told me that he saw my name in the Source Magazin...I couldnt believe it but when i checked the source magazine infact did write a short paragraph about me and my work. A few months after that producers working on a B.E.T show contacted me and asked me to send them some footage and i did. For the first time i had my work aired at a major tv staion (B.E.T) on a show called Hot Ghetto Mess. Today I just continue to grind hard hoping for a tv deal. I realized my heart is into doing documentaries so thats what I specialize in even though I do it all

The History

Cliffy Barz Presents Harlem Streets. A young talented producer from Harlem named Clifford Kofi aka Cliffy Barz creates a documentary DVD film about how life is like living on the rough streets of Harlem. Being Related To One Of Hip Hops Greatest Rappers Big L...(Lamont Coleman) Cliffy Had The Opportunity To Be Around All The Big Time Hustlers In Harlem At An Early Age. He gives viewers the opportunity to see talented rappers from the streets of Harlem represent thier block, and their hood on camera. Although Cliffy was born and raised in Harlem, He moved to Memphis Tennesee (Home Of 36-Mafia, Sizzurp, and lowriders)for 3 years and adapted some of the characteristics of the South. Much Of His Work is chopped and screwed even in video format. His great passion for film launced him with his own 30 minute TV show called Harlem Streets which comes on TV every Sunday Night 12:30am on channel 57 MNN. For those of you who dont Have Harlem Streets Volume 1, it is definetily a must have DVD. This was Cliffy Barz first original DVD. The whole DVD was filmed right here in the heart of Harlem including the following blocks. 145th, 125th, lenox ave, 8th Ave, Broadway, St. Nick, Amsterdam, and other Local Harlem Blocks. This DVD is basically a true documentary about Harlem exposing the violence, trouble, and talent surrounding this small area in Uptown Manhattan. In this documentary you will see everything from hot freestyles, real crimes, police activity, to witnessing how modern day life is like living in the hood. What you will see in this DVD is young kids striving to survive on the rough streets known to many as Harlem. The issues that cause this community to become corrupt and violent are discuse along with live action footage caught on camera to give our viewers a better understanding on what is going on out here on these Streets. Some of the Footage maybe a little graphic but points out major issues which play big roles in the violence that happens. All these issues are discussed and exposed so people can really know what is going on out here. In these streets its rough, its hard, and people strive to stay alive everyday in Harlem Streets. It took me a while to realize we cannot always critisize those who chose to live their life on the streets. Because for some its not a choice. Its the only option --Cliffy Barz Be Sure To Look Out For Cliffy Barz Newest DVD!!
